The Field of Sparks Artweek in Ipolytarnóc is a model for transformation in rural Hungary, fostering interethnic, cross-cultural collaborations. A socio-art platform inviting architects, artists, students and residents to redefine perspectives on identity, community, and local values. The 6th Artweek addresses "Extinction of Experience" by reviving crafts, ecological resilience. In the ancient, fossilized landscape of Ipolytarnóc, we gather as a Central European collective (Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary) to create a landmark of permanence as a new addition of the Field of Sparks Artpark.
The Bivouac is a modular cross-frame steel installation that serves as a solar clock and a site of radical presence. The installation is composed of four identical wings, consisting of 3x3x3m cubes oriented to the cardinal points. Each team is tasked with designing one wing, transforming it into a “bedroom”— a bivouac for intimate rest and observation. We demand a return to the material, the complex, and the real. Materials on site: reused metal (perforated sheets, mesh, or solid plates) and reclaimed wood elements. Complemented by sunlight as the installation’s primary medium.
