Since 2010, we have been working to transform the thoroughfare in close cooperation with other associations, authorities and political representation of the city districts and the capital of Prague, Czech and foreign architects and urban planners, volunteers and active citizens.

An urban boulevard pleasant for pedestrians and drivers:

  • More pedestrian crossings
  • An alley lining a busy avenue
  • Wider sidewalks
  • A lively ground floor with restaurants, shops and cafes
  • A bike lane for greater traffic safety

Air - Motion - Sound 2017

I. P. Pavlova Square

One-day happening in collaboration with intermedia artist Michal Kindernay.

The First Tree on the Highway (2015)

The sycamore tree (Platanus hispanica) was planted at the corner of Boženy Němcové / Legerova: A month and a day after the opening of the Blanka Tunnel, on 20 October 2015, International Arbor Day, we decided to continue our efforts to transform the North-South Connector by planting the first tree, which became the nucleus of an avenue lining the Prague main thoroughfare.

Open Scene of I. P. Pavlov (2013)

A two-week public happening based on Patrik Habel's artistic achievement "Painting 400 m²": we transformed the current roadside parking lot together with partners and volunteers into a meeting place and performance stage for Prague's cultural initiatives and citizens. We tested whether one of the most exclusive squares in Vinohrady could become a lively place again. The event attracted 96,000 visitors and for a fortnight, even with a small budget, a part of the crossroads was transformed into a public living space. Around 100 participants volunteered and more than 40 different activities took place.
The Open Scene of I.P.Pavlov won an honorable mention in the Grand Prix of Architects 2014 in the Urbanism category.

Initiative for the humanization of the arterial road between Prague 2, Prague 4 and Prague 7 (2012)

Manifesto: a document in which for the first time urban districts agreed on joint actions leading to the transformation of the arterial road.

Vision of the Prague Motorway (2011)

Exhibition.

Discussion with the City Council (2011)

Converging Territories project (2010-2011)

Urban study by Elastik and MAT: We invited the architectural studios Elastik and MAT from the Netherlands to collaborate on the humanization of the Arterial as part of an international project (Prague-Dublin-Paris). The study became the basis for opening a debate on the "urbanization" of the North-South Connector.

Crossing over Sokolská Street (2010)

An artistic happening in collaboration with Tomáš Džadon. A pedestrian has 6 seconds to cross the busiest crossing of I.P.Pavlova (Sokolská x Ječná) most of the day, while a car has 60 seconds.
